चित्रं देवानां केतुरनीकं ज्योतिष्मान् प्रदिशः सूर्य उद्यन्। दिवाकरोऽति द्युम्नैस्तमांसि विश्वातारीद् दुरितानि शुक्रः

IAST Transliteration

citráṃ devā́nāṃ ketúr anī́kaṃ jyótiṣmān pradíśaḥ sū́rya udyán | divākaró’ti dyumnáis tamā́ṃsi víśvā́tārīd duritā́ni śukráḥ ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

Wondrous, the Gods’ bright banner and shining front, the Sun ariseth, light-possessing, filling the quarters. The Day-maker, with splendors passing over all darknesses, hath crossed beyond all evil ways—pure and radiant.

Translation

देवताओं का अद्भुत ध्वज और तेजस्वी अग्रभाग—सूर्य उदित होता है; ज्योति से युक्त होकर वह दिशाओं को प्रकाश से भर देता है। दिवस-कर्ता, अपनी दीप्तियों से समस्त अन्धकारों को लाँघकर, सब दुरित मार्गों के पार चला गया—शुद्ध और उज्ज्वल।
