tásmā ūrdhvā́yā diśó antardeśā́n mahādevám iṣvā́sám anuṣṭhātā́ram akurvan
English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)
Therefore, from the mid-region of the Upward Quarter, they appointed Mahādeva the Archer to be the Attendant-Guardian.
Translation
अतः ऊर्ध्व दिशा के अन्तर्देश (मध्य-प्रदेश) से उन्होंने महादेव—धनुर्धर—को अनुष्ठाता-रक्षक (सेवक-पालक) नियुक्त किया।
