अदेवृघ्न्यपतिघ्नीहैधि शिवा पशुभ्यः सुयमा सुवर्चाः । प्रजावती वीरसूर्देवकामा स्योनेममग्निं गार्हपत्यं सपर्य
adévr̥ghny àpatighnī́há édhi śivā́ paśúbhyaḥ suyámā suvár̥cāḥ | prajā́vatī vīrasū́r devákāmā syōnám imám agním gārhapatyáṃ saparya
Be here one who harms not the husband’s folk, who slays not her lord; thrive—benign to the cattle, well-ordered, of fair splendour. Rich in offspring, a mother of heroes, god-desiring—honour thou this kindly Gārhapatya Fire.
हे वधू, यहाँ ऐसी हो कि देवर-जन को कष्ट न दो, और अपने पति का वध/हानि न करो; उन्नति करो—पशुओं के लिए शिवा (कल्याणकारी), सुयमा (सुसंयमित/सुव्यवस्थित), सुवर्चा (सुतेजस्विनी) बनो। प्रजावती, वीरों को जनने वाली, देवकामना रखने वाली—इस स्योना (मंगल) गार्हपत्य अग्नि की सेवा-पूजा करो।
