Adhyāya 379 — अद्वैतब्रह्मविज्ञानम्

Advaita-brahma-vijñāna

पिण्डः पृथग् यतः पुंसः शिरःपाय्वादिलक्षणः ततो ऽहमिति कुत्रैतां संज्ञां राजन् करोम्यहं

piṇḍaḥ pṛthag yataḥ puṃsaḥ śiraḥpāyvādilakṣaṇaḥ tato 'hamiti kutraitāṃ saṃjñāṃ rājan karomyahaṃ

क्योंकि पुरुष का यह देह-पिण्ड सिर, गुदा आदि लक्षणों से युक्त होकर पृथक् है, इसलिए ‘मैं’ यह संज्ञा उसमें कहाँ लगाऊँ? हे राजन्, मैं वह पहचान कैसे करूँ?
