Related Themes: Agni Purana 235 (rājadharma/yuddha-nīti sequence)
It conveys rajadharma and yuddha-nīti: the non-retreating hero is praised with Aśvamedha-like merit, and a practical rule of combat ethics is stated—equals should engage equals.
It links multiple domains in one compact rule-set: Vedic ritual valuation (Aśvamedha-phala), political theology (a king’s victory grounded in dharma), and military conduct (fair matching in combat), showing the Purana’s cross-disciplinary instruction.
It frames righteous courage and dharma-based kingship as sources of high religious merit, equating steadfast valor with great sacrificial reward while prescribing ethical restraint in warfare.
