Practically, combine persistent work with cultivation of virtue over time."}

Concept: Effort can neutralize adverse conditions; accumulated sāttvika karma can mature into success even when current effort is minimal—indicating layered causality across time.

Application: In policy and personal life: build ‘moral reserves’ through consistent virtue; when adversity strikes, respond with structured effort rather than resignation.

FAQs

Nīti-vidyā: it teaches a practical doctrine of action—apply pauruṣa (disciplined personal effort) to counter adverse daiva (fate), while recognizing that prior sāttvika karma can also yield results.

Alongside ritual, architecture, and other sciences, the Agni Purana also preserves governance-ethics and applied philosophy; this verse is a compact rule for decision-making in rajadharma/nīti, balancing fate, effort, and karmic causality.

It affirms karma-phala: sustained sāttvika conduct accumulates merit that can mature into siddhi, while present effort remains a dharmic duty—discouraging fatalism and encouraging righteous initiative.
