Related Themes: Agni Purana 306 (japa–homa prayogas in pūjā-vidhi)
It prescribes an ayuṣya-prayoga: a quantified regimen of japa (300,000 recitations) and homa (100,000 oblations) using specific dravyas—bilva with ghee, rice, fruits, fragrances, and dūrvā—as the offering set.
It exemplifies the Agni Purana’s practical manual-like coverage by giving exact counts and standardized offering materials for a specific desired result (longevity), integrating mantra-practice with fire-ritual procedure and dravya-selection.
The verse frames disciplined japa and homa with auspicious offerings as a meritorious, purificatory act whose फल (result) is āyuḥ—extension and stabilization of life through ritual merit and divine propitiation.
