Related Themes: Agni Purana 305 (preceding nyāsa/dhyāna and yantra-lekhana; subsequent homa details)
It teaches a specific homa sequence: bringing and placing the consecrated water-jar, installing Sudarshana, and offering oblations in the southern (yāmya) sector of the chakra-mandala in proper order.
It preserves precise operational details of ritual engineering—use of kumbha (consecration vessel), mandala zoning (chakra-circles), and directional liturgy—showing the Purana as a manual of applied religious practice, not only mythology.
Correct installation and ordered offerings to Sudarshana in the mandala are meant to produce protective merit (rakṣā), remove obstacles, and align the rite with directional deities, enhancing ritual efficacy and purification.
