FAQs

It prescribes a specific devotional donation—offering a pair of yellow garments, considered प्रिय (dear) to Vāsudeva—as a practical dana that is linked to obtaining śānti (peace).

It exemplifies the Agni Purana’s catalog-like treatment of dharma: enumerating concrete gift-items (dāna-dravya), their deity-associations, and the resulting spiritual fruits, alongside its many other domains (ritual, polity, medicine, arts).

The verse frames dāna as bhakti-driven karma: gifting what is प्रिय to Viṣṇu/Vāsudeva is said to please the deity and yield inner and outer śānti—calm, auspiciousness, and pacification of obstacles.
