एवं सा गोमती तत्र संजाता सागरंगमा । सर्वपापहरा प्रोक्ता पूर्वगंगेति या श्रुता
evaṃ sā gomatī tatra saṃjātā sāgaraṃgamā | sarvapāpaharā proktā pūrvagaṃgeti yā śrutā
આ રીતે ગોમતી ત્યાં ઉત્પન્ન થઈ સાગરગામિની બની. તે સર્વપાપહારી કહેવાય છે અને ‘પૂર્વગંગા’ તરીકે પ્રસિદ્ધ છે.
