गोः स्वर्गादागता यस्मादिदं स्थानं मती मता । तस्माद्धि गोमतीनाम ख्यातिं लोके गमिष्यति
goḥ svargādāgatā yasmādidaṃ sthānaṃ matī matā | tasmāddhi gomatīnāma khyātiṃ loke gamiṣyati
કારણ કે તેણી સ્વર્ગથી આવેલી ‘ગો’—દિવ્ય ગાય—રૂપે માનવામાં આવે છે, તેથી આ સ્થાન પણ તે પ્રમાણે પૂજ્ય ગણાય છે. તેથી ‘ગોમતી’ નામ નિશ્ચયે જ જગતમાં પ્રસિદ્ધ થશે.
