क्लेशेन कृत्वा कूपं वा स च क्षारोदको वृथा । बहुक्लेशैर्जन्म नीतं विना धर्मं तथा वृथा
kleśena kṛtvā kūpaṃ vā sa ca kṣārodako vṛthā | bahukleśairjanma nītaṃ vinā dharmaṃ tathā vṛthā
ઘણો પરિશ્રમ કરીને કૂવો ખોદ્યો છતાં તેનું પાણી ખારું નીકળે તો એ શ્રમ વ્યર્થ. તેમ જ અનેક કષ્ટોમાં પસાર થયેલું જીવન પણ, ધર્મ વિના હોય તો વ્યર્થ છે.
