annārāmaṃ ca vāsāṃsi hayaprabhṛtivāhanam | dānāni madhyamānīti madhyamadravyadānataḥ

અન્ન અને આરામ/ઉદ્યાન, વસ્ત્રો, તથા ઘોડા વગેરે વાહનો—આ દાન ‘મધ્યમ’ કહેવાય છે; કારણ કે તે મધ્યમ દ્રવ્યોનું દાન છે.
