पूजां च जागरं कृत्वा मुच्येत्पारुष्यपापतः । इत्याह स्कंदप्रीत्यर्थं स्वयं तत्र महेश्वरः
pūjāṃ ca jāgaraṃ kṛtvā mucyetpāruṣyapāpataḥ | ityāha skaṃdaprītyarthaṃ svayaṃ tatra maheśvaraḥ
…પૂજા તથા રાત્રિ-જાગરણ કરીને મનુષ્ય કઠોરતા/ક્રૂરતાના પાપથી મુક્ત થાય છે. સ્કંદની પ્રીતિ માટે ત્યાં સ્વયં મહેશ્વરે આમ કહ્યું.
