नरो हि गृहिणीहीनो अर्धदेह इति स्मृतः । यथात्मना विना देहे कार्यं किंचिन्न सिध्यति
naro hi gṛhiṇīhīno ardhadeha iti smṛtaḥ | yathātmanā vinā dehe kāryaṃ kiṃcinna sidhyati
પત્ની વિના પુરુષને શાસ્ત્રોમાં ‘અર્ધદેહી’ કહેવાયો છે. જેમ આત્મા વિના દેહમાં કોઈ કાર્ય સિદ્ધ થતું નથી, તેમ આ અપૂર્ણતામાં જીવનધર્મો પૂર્ણતા પામતા નથી.
