अधमानधमांस्त्यक्त्वा कुलमुत्कर्षतां नयेत् । उत्तमानुत्तमानेव गच्छेद्धीनांश्च वर्जयेत् । ब्राह्मणः श्रेष्ठतामेति प्रत्यवायेन शूद्रताम्
adhamānadhamāṃstyaktvā kulamutkarṣatāṃ nayet | uttamānuttamāneva gaccheddhīnāṃśca varjayet | brāhmaṇaḥ śreṣṭhatāmeti pratyavāyena śūdratām
અધમ અને નીચ સંગતિ ત્યજી પોતાના કુળને ઉત્કર્ષ તરફ દોરવું જોઈએ. માત્ર ઉત્તમ અને શ્રેષ્ઠ પુરુષોને જ સેવવા, અને હીન લોકોને ટાળવા. બ્રાહ્મણ સદાચારથી શ્રેષ્ઠતા પામે છે; પરંતુ અપચારે પતન પામી નીચ સ્થિતિને પામે છે.
