श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । कथयामि नृपश्रेष्ठ आनन्देश्वरमुत्तमम् । दानवानां वधं कृत्वा देवदेवो महेश्वरः
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | kathayāmi nṛpaśreṣṭha ānandeśvaramuttamam | dānavānāṃ vadhaṃ kṛtvā devadevo maheśvaraḥ
શ્રીમાર્કણ્ડેયે કહ્યું—હે નૃપશ્રેષ્ઠ, હું ઉત્તમ આનંદેશ્વરનું વર્ણન કરું છું. દાનવોનો વધ કરીને દેવોના દેવ મહેશ્વર (આ મહિમાથી પ્રગટ થયા).
