श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । हन्त ते कथयिष्यामि विचित्रं यत्पुरातनम् । वृत्तं स्वर्गसभामध्ये ऋषीणां भावितात्मनाम्

શ્રી માર્કંડેયે કહ્યું—હંત, હું તને એક અદ્ભુત પ્રાચીન વૃત્તાંત કહું છું. સ્વર્ગસભાના મધ્યમાં, ભાવિતાત્મા ઋષિઓની વચ્ચે જે ઘટના બની, તે સાંભળ।
