samāgatau tadā dṛṣṭau madhye jvalitapāvakau | puṇyapāpāni jantūnāṃ śrutismṛtyarthapāragau

ત્યારે બે જણ ત્યાં આવ્યા હોવાનું દેખાયું, જ્વલંત અગ્નિના મધ્યમાં ઊભા હતા. તેઓ જીવોના પુણ્ય-પાપનો નિર્ણય કરનાર, શ્રુતિ-સ્મૃતિના અર્થમાં પારંગત હતા.
