श्रीमार्कण्डेय उवाच । मीनो भूत्वा पुरा कल्पे प्रीत्यर्थं ब्रह्मणो विभुः । समर्पयत्समुद्धृत्य वन्दान्मग्नान्महार्णवे
śrīmārkaṇḍeya uvāca | mīno bhūtvā purā kalpe prītyarthaṃ brahmaṇo vibhuḥ | samarpayatsamuddhṛtya vandānmagnānmahārṇave
શ્રી માર્કંડેયે કહ્યું—પૂર્વે એક કલ્પમાં પરમ વિભુએ મત્સ્યરૂપ ધારણ કરી બ્રહ્માની પ્રીતિ માટે મહાસમુદ્રમાં ડૂબેલા વેદોને ઉદ્ધરી ફરી અર્પણ કર્યા।
