Transliteration

vibhaktaṃ saptabhiḥ khaṇḍaiḥ skāndaṃ bhāgyavatāṃ vara | tadekāśītisāhasraṃ saṃkhyayā vai nirūpitam

Translation

હે ભાગ્યવંતોમાં શ્રેષ્ઠ! સ્કાન્દપુરાણ સાત ખંડોમાં વિભક્ત છે. તેની પરિમિતિ સંખ્યાથી નિશ્ચિતપણે એક્યાસી હજાર શ્લોક તરીકે નિરૂપિત છે.
