Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Vīrabhadra
It presents dharma in action: when adharma approaches, the righteous do not collapse into fear but meet it with steady resolve—an outer reflection of the Shaiva ideal of inner strength grounded in devotion to Pati (Shiva).
Although the verse is martial, the Yuddhakhaṇḍa frames such events under Saguna Shiva’s governance of the world—where protection of order and devotees is part of Shiva’s līlā, and the devotee’s courage becomes an offering aligned with Shiva’s will.
A practical takeaway is japa for fearlessness—especially the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—performed with calm breath before action, remembering Shiva as the inner controller (Pati) who steadies the mind amid conflict.
