It highlights that worldly power and valor cannot overcome the binding force of karma and destined consequence; when the mind turns away from Pati (Śiva), it becomes “bhavitavya-vimohita”—confused and driven toward inevitable downfall.
The appearance of a “Śiva-dūta” emphasizes Saguna Śiva’s active grace and governance in the world—Śiva protects dharma through emissaries and interventions, guiding beings toward recognition of His lordship symbolized by the Liṅga.
A practical takeaway is to counter delusion with Śiva-smaraṇa: japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) and steadying the mind with bhasma-dhāraṇa (Tripuṇḍra) as a reminder to submit ego and action to Śiva.
