Devas’ Hymn, Nandikeśvara’s Petition, and Śiva’s Rising from Samādhi
evaṃ kuruta sarve hi vidhiviṣṇumukhāḥ surāḥ | yathāgatena mārgeṇānyathā gacchata mā ciram
Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Īśāna
Significance: Highlights īśvara-ājñā (divine command) and the principle that devas must follow Śiva’s ordinance; reinforces disciplined return to dharma (right path).
The verse highlights Shiva as the supreme Pati (Lord) whose command restores order: even Brahma and Vishnu-led devas must act promptly and without deviation, symbolizing disciplined alignment with Shiva’s will.
As Saguna Shiva, the Lord directly guides and governs the devas; Linga-worship similarly trains the devotee to follow Shiva’s injunctions with steadiness, returning to the “right path” rather than wandering in ego-driven alternatives.
The practical takeaway is niyama and ekāgratā: promptly resume one’s prescribed sādhanā—such as japa of “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” and disciplined observances—without delay or distraction.
