Cosmic Event: Partial obscuration analogy (sun’s kalā), evoking eclipse/phase imagery without asserting an actual eclipse.
It teaches that the Lord is self-luminous and the revealer of all experience, yet He is never truly obscured; any “covering” is only an apparent limitation in perception, like the sun seeming diminished by a phase.
The Liṅga is a tangible focus for approaching the self-effulgent Lord; even if the Supreme seems hidden due to limited human perception, Saguna worship keeps awareness anchored in His ever-present light and grace.
Meditate on Shiva as inner light while japa-ing the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”), using the Liṅga as a steady support (ālambana) to transcend the mind’s veiling tendencies.
