Narration of Kārttikeya’s Divine Play
अथैकस्मिन् दिने तात स बालः कृत्तिकात्मजः । गत्वा देवसभां दिव्यां सुचरित्रं चकार ह
athaikasmin dine tāta sa bālaḥ kṛttikātmajaḥ | gatvā devasabhāṃ divyāṃ sucaritraṃ cakāra ha
પછી એક દિવસે, હે તાત, કૃત્તિકાઓનો પુત્ર તે બાલક દિવ્ય દેવસભામાં ગયો અને ત્યાં ઉત્તમ, આદર્શ આચરણ કર્યું.

It highlights sucaritra—noble, disciplined conduct—as a visible sign of inner purity and divine alignment. In a Shaiva Siddhanta reading, such conduct prepares the soul (paśu) to receive Shiva’s grace (anugraha) by loosening bondage (pāśa) through dharma.
Kārttikeya is closely linked to Saguna Shiva’s divine order and protection of dharma. The verse implies that devotion is not only ritual but also embodied virtue—conduct that reflects reverence toward Shiva’s cosmic governance often symbolized through Linga worship.
The takeaway is to pair worship with sucaritra: recite the Panchakshara mantra (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with a vow of disciplined conduct, and support it with simple Shaiva observances like Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and mindful restraint (niyama).
