अप स्वसुरुषसो नग्जिहीते रिणक्ति कृष्णीररुषाय पन्थाम् । अश्वामघा गोमघा वां हुवेम दिवा नक्तं शरुमस्मद्युयोतम् ॥

ápa svásur uṣáso nák jihīte riṇákti kṛ́ṣṇīr aruṣā́ya pánthām | áśvām aghā gómaghā vāṃ huvema dívā náktaṃ śárum asmád yuyotam ||

રાત પોતાની બહેન ઉષા પાસેથી દૂર ખસી જાય છે અને કાળી દિશાઓને લાલિમાભર્યા પ્રકાશના માર્ગને સોંપે છે. હે અશ્વિનો—અશ્વબળના દાતા, ગૌ-સમૃદ્ધિના દાતા—અમે તમને દિવસ-રાતે પુકારીયે છીએ; અમારાથી હાનિનું બાણ દૂર હાંકી દો.
