Sukta 2.28
मा नो वधैर्वरुण ये त इष्टावेनः कृण्वन्तमसुर भ्रीणन्ति । मा ज्योतिषः प्रवसथानि गन्म वि षू मृधः शिश्रथो जीवसे नः ॥
mā́ no vadháir varuṇa yé ta iṣṭā́v énaḥ kṛṇvántam asura bhrīṇánti | mā́ jyótiṣaḥ pra-vasáthāni ganma ví ṣū́ mṛ́dhaḥ śiśratho jīváse naḥ ||
હે વરુણ, અમને સંહારના પ્રહારો વડે ન મારશો—હે અસુર, જ્યારે તારી ઇષ્ટા/સેવામાં રહેલા લોકો દોષ કરનાર પર આક્ષેપ કરે છે. પ્રકાશથી દૂર એવા પરલોકીય નિવાસોમાં અમે ન જઈએ; શત્રુબળોને સર્વથા ઢીલા પાડી દે, જેથી અમે જીવીએ.
