Sukta 10.16
मैनमग्ने वि दहो माभि शोचो मास्य त्वचं चिक्षिपो मा शरीरम् । यदा शृतं कृणवो जातवेदोऽथेमेनं प्र हिणुतात्पितृभ्यः ॥
mā́ enam agne ví dahaḥ mā́bhi śóco mā́ asyá tvácaṃ cikṣipo mā́ śárīram | yadā́ śṛtáṃ kṛṇávo jā́tavedo áthem enaṃ prá hiṇutāt pitṛ́bhyaḥ ||
હે અગ્નિ, એને વિખેરી ન નાખ; એને દહન કરીને નાશ ન કર; એને દાઝાડ ન કર; એની ત્વચા ફેંકી ન દે; શરીરને ચીર ન નાખ. હે જાતવેદ, જ્યારે તું એને શૃત (સુસંસ્કૃત/પાકેલું) કરી દે, ત્યારે એને પિતૃઓ તરફ આગળ મોકલ.
