Hanuman Enters Lanka and Encounters Laṅkā-devatā
ततः संवर्तयामास वामहस्तस्य सोऽङ्गुलीः।मुष्टिनाऽऽभिजघानैनां हनुमान् क्रोधमूर्छितः।।।।स्त्री चेति मन्यमानेन नातिक्रोधः स्वयं कृतः।
tataḥ saṃvartayāmāsa vāma-hastasya so 'ṅgulīḥ | muṣṭinā 'bhijaghāna enāṃ hanumān krodha-mūrchitaḥ || strī ceti manyamānena nātikrodhaḥ svayaṃ kṛtaḥ |
પછી ક્રોધથી મૂર્ચ્છિત હનુમાન્ એ ડાબા હાથની આંગળીઓ સંવર્તી મুষ্টિ બાંધી અને તેને ઘુંસાથી પ્રહાર કર્યો; પરંતુ “સ્ત્રી છે” એમ વિચારી પોતાનો ક્રોધ અતિશય ન કર્યો.
Overcome by anger, Hanuman clenched the fingers of his left hand and hit her with his fist. Considering her to be, after all, a woman he did not turn outrageous.
