अवगाढा च पीत्वा च पुनात्यासप्तमं कुलम् । यावदस्थि मनुष्यस्य गंगायाः स्पृशते जलम्

ગંગામાં અવગાહન કરીને સ્નાન કરવાથી અને તેનું જળ પીવાથી મનુષ્ય પોતાના કુળને સાતમી પેઢી સુધી પવિત્ર કરે છે—જ્યાં સુધી ગંગાજળ મનુષ્યની અસ્થિઓને પણ સ્પર્શે છે.
