It is presented as a sacred, fragrant forest destination within the Svarga-khaṇḍa’s pilgrimage-style geography—described as a place frequented by Brahmā, other gods, and ascetic sages.
The pairing signals the forest’s sanctity: it is not merely scenic but spiritually potent, validated by the presence of both divine beings and accomplished sages.
It encourages purposeful movement toward holy places and association with the austere and the divine—implying that proximity to tapas (austerity) and sacred company elevates one’s spiritual life.
