Śatrughna’s Entry into Ahicchatrā
Temptation of Sumada and the Goddess’s Boon
yūyaṃ tu mamacittasthā jaganmātṛsvarūpakāḥ | mayā saṃciṃtyate yā hi sāpi tvadrūpiṇī matā
Uncertain (context needed from surrounding verses; likely a male deity or sage addressing a group of goddesses/śaktis as Jagad-mātṛ)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Sandhi Resolution Notes:
It teaches a Shakti-centered vision: the addressed divine feminine powers are present within the speaker’s inner awareness, and any form contemplated is understood to be their very manifestation.
It frames contemplation (saṃcintana) as a way of encountering the Goddess: whatever form arises in meditation is not separate, but an expression of the Jagad-mātṛ.
Seeing the Mother of the universe in all forms encourages reverence, humility, and non-harming—since the divine is recognized as present in every manifestation one encounters.
