Sanatkumara (teaching Narada)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: none
It safeguards dharma by ensuring worship, vrata, and daily rites are performed at the correct time; accurate kāla (time) is treated as a support for right practice.
Bhakti in the Purāṇic tradition is expressed through timely japa, pūjā, and vrata; this verse gives the technical method to align devotional observances with proper astronomical time.
Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa (astronomical time-reckoning): using Laṅkā as a reference meridian and applying deśāntara corrections in half-nāḍī units to compute local time for different places.
