Adhyaya 49 — Primordial Human Creation, the Rise of Desire, and the Origins of Settlements, Measures, and Agriculture
mārkaṇḍeya uvāca / brahmaṇaḥ sṛjataḥ pūrvaṃ satyābhidhyāyinas tathā / mithunānāṃ sahasraṃ tu mukhāt so 'thāsṛjan mune

Truth (satya) is presented as a primordial orientation of the first group. Ethically, it implies that social and spiritual order begins with integrity of speech and intention—symbolized by ‘mouth-born’ creation.
Sarga: specific modality of creation (emanation from Brahmā’s body) and differentiation by moral-psychological orientation (truthfulness).
Mouth signifies vāṇī/śabda (speech). ‘Truth-intent’ beings arising from the mouth suggests that sattvic order and dharma arise from purified speech and Vedic articulation.
