Adhyaya 48 — The Emanation of Beings from Brahma: Night, Day, Twilight, and the Orders of Creation
देवाद्याः स्थावरान्ताश्च प्रजा ब्रह्मंश्चतुर्विधाः ।
ब्रह्मणः कुर्वतः सृष्टिं जज्ञिरे मानसास्तदा ॥
devādyāḥ sthāvarāntāś ca prajā brahmaṃś caturvidhāḥ |
brahmaṇaḥ kurvataḥ sṛṣṭiṃ jajñire mānasās tadā ||
હે બ્રાહ્મણ, દેવોથી માંડી સ્થાવર સુધીની પ્રજા ચાર પ્રકારની હતી. બ્રહ્મા સૃષ્ટિ રચી રહ્યા હતા ત્યારે તેઓ મનોજ—મનમાંથી જન્મેલા જીવો—રૂપે પ્રગટ થયા.
