पठका: पाठकाश्ैव ये चान्ये शास्त्रचिन्तका: । सर्वे व्यसनिनो मूर्खा यः क्रियावान् स पण्डित:
paṭhakāḥ pāṭhakāś caiva ye cānye śāstra-cintakāḥ | sarve vyasanino mūrkhā yaḥ kriyāvān sa paṇḍitaḥ ||
વાંચનારા, વાંચવનારા અને જે માત્ર શાસ્ત્રચિંતન કરે છે—જો તેઓ કર્મમાં ન ઉતરે તો તેઓ બધા વાદવિવાદ અને દેખાવાના વ્યસની તથા મૂર્ખ છે. સાચો પંડિત તો એ છે, જે શાસ્ત્રોક્ત કર્તવ્યનું આચરણ કરે છે.
