भुक्तवत्सु द्विजेन्द्रेष यथावत्‌ सम्प्रदापयेत्‌ । वाचकं भरतश्रेष्ठ भोजयित्वा स्वलंकृतम्‌

Transliteration

bhuktavatsu dvijendreṣu yathāvat sampradāpayet | vācakaṃ bharataśreṣṭha bhojayitvā svalakṛtam, bharatabhūṣaṇa |

Translation

વૈશમ્પાયન બોલ્યા—શ્રેષ્ઠ બ્રાહ્મણો ભોજન કરી લે ત્યાર પછી તેમને વિધિપૂર્વક યથોચિત દાન આપવું જોઈએ. પછી, હે ભરતશ્રેષ્ઠ, વસ્ત્રાભૂષણોથી અલંકૃત કથાવાચકનો સન્માન કરીને તેને ઉત્તમ અન્નથી ભોજન કરાવવું જોઈએ; ત્યારબાદ દાન-માનથી તેને સંતોષ આપવો યોગ્ય છે.
