गोप्रदानगुणाः तथा कपिलागोविधानम्
Merits of Cow-Gift and the Origin-Account of Kapilā Cows
न जातु ब्राह्मणो वाच्यो यदवाच्यं शचीपते । मनसा गोधु न द्रुह्ेद् गोवृत्तिगोंडनुकल्पक:
na jātu brāhmaṇo vācyo yad avācyaṃ śacīpate | manasā goṣu na druhyed govṛttigo'nukalpakaḥ ||
હે શચીપતે, શક્ર! બ્રાહ્મણને કદી પણ અવાચ્ય વાણી બોલવી નહીં; અને ગાયો પ્રત્યે મનમાં પણ દ્રોહભાવ રાખવો નહીં. જે બ્રાહ્મણ ગાય જેવી સરળ, અહિંસક જીવનવૃત્તિથી રહે છે, ગાયો માટે ઘાસ-ચારાં વગેરેની વ્યવસ્થા કરે છે અને સત્ય તથા ધર્મમાં તત્પર રહે છે—તેને મળતા ફળનું વર્ણન સાંભળો: તે એક ગાયનું પણ દાન કરે તો તેને હજાર ગોદાન જેટલું પુણ્ય મળે છે.

A life of simplicity, truth, and active care for cows magnifies the merit of charity—so much that gifting even one cow is praised as equal to a thousand cow-gifts.
