एता: पुरा हाददन्नित्यमेव शान्तात्मानो दानपथे निविष्टा: तपांस्युग्राण्यप्रतिशड्कमाना- स्ते वै दान॑ प्रददुश्चैव शक्‍त्या

Transliteration

etāḥ purā hādadann nityam eva śāntātmano dānapathe niviṣṭāḥ | tapāṁsy ugrāṇy apratiśaṅkamānās te vai dānaṁ pradaduś caiva śaktyā ||

Translation

પૂર્વકાળમાં શાંતચિત્ત પુરુષો દાનપથમાં સ્થિત રહીને નિત્ય આ ગાયોનું દાન કરતા. તેઓ ઉગ્ર તપસ્યા કરતા હોવા છતાં તેમાં કોઈ સંશય ન રાખતા અને પોતાની શક્તિ મુજબ દાન આપતા જ રહેતા.
