अन्न ते वर्तयिष्यामि इतिहासं पुरातनम् । यथा रक्षा कृता पूर्व विपुलेन महात्मना,इस विषयमें मैं तुम्हें एक प्राचीन इतिहास बताऊँगा कि पूर्वकालमें महात्मा विपुलने किस प्रकार एक स्त्री (गुरुपत्नी)-की रक्षा की थी
anna te vartayiṣyāmi itihāsaṃ purātanam | yathā rakṣā kṛtā pūrvaṃ vipulena mahātmanā ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—પ્રિય! હું તને એક પ્રાચીન ઇતિહાસ કહું છું—પૂર્વકાળમાં મહાત્મા વિપુલે પોતાના ગુરુની પત્નીની રક્ષા કેવી રીતે કરી હતી.
