Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
अर्द्धमानाश्च विबुधा ग्रहेण सुबलीयसा । शिवदत्तवरान् जष्नुरसुरेन्द्रान सुरा भूशम्
arddhamānāś ca vibudhā graheṇa subalīyasā | śivadattavarān jaṣṇur asurendrān surā bhūśam ||
વાસુદેવે કહ્યું—જ્યારે અત્યંત બળવાન ગ્રહે દેવતાઓને સતાવવાનું શરૂ કર્યું, ત્યારે દબાણમાં હોવા છતાં દેવતાઓએ શિવના વરપ્રાપ્ત અસુરેન્દ્રો પર પ્રહાર કરીને તેમને પરાસ્ત કર્યા; આ રીતે તેમના વચ્ચે લાંબા સમય સુધી યુદ્ધ ચાલ્યું।
