Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ

Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony

विभूषितं पुण्यपवित्रतोयया सदा च जुष्टं नृप जह्लुकन्यया । विभूषितं धर्मभृतां वरिष्ठै- महात्मभिव॑द्लिसमानकल्पै:

Transliteration

vibhūṣitaṃ puṇyapavitratoyayā sadā ca juṣṭaṃ nṛpa jahlukanyayā | vibhūṣitaṃ dharmabhṛtāṃ variṣṭhair mahātmabhir adlisamānakalpaiḥ ||

Translation

વાસુદેવે કહ્યું—હે નરેશ્વર! તે સ્થાન પુણ્ય અને પવિત્ર જળોથી અલંકૃત હતું અને જહ્નુની કન્યા જાહ્નવી જાણે પ્રેમથી તેનો આસ્વાદ લેતી હોય તેમ સદા ત્યાં આવતી-જતી હતી. ધર્મધારકોમાં શ્રેષ્ઠ, અગ્નિસમાન તેજસ્વી અનેક મહાત્માઓથી પણ તે આશ્રમપ્રદેશ શોભિત હતો. આ રીતે પુણ્યસલિલા જાહ્નવી તે પાવન પ્રદેશની શોભા સતત વધારતી રહી।
