Bhīṣma’s Counsel on Reconciliation and Partition (भीष्मोपदेशः—संधि-राज्यविभागविचारः)
ततो द्वैपायनस्तस्मै नरेन्द्राय महात्मने । आचख्यौ तद् यथा धर्मो बहूनामेकपत्निता
tato dvaipāyanas tasmai narendrāya mahātmane | ācakhyau tad yathā dharmo bahūnām ekapatnitā ||
ત્યારબાદ દ્વૈપાયન (વ્યાસ) એ તે મહાત્મા નરેન્દ્રને આ વિષયમાં ધર્મનું વિધાન શું છે તે સમજાવ્યું—અર્થાત્ ઘણા પુરુષો માટે એક જ પત્ની રાખવી (એકપત્ની-ધર્મ) યોગ્ય અને શાસ્ત્રસંમતિ આચરણ માનવામાં આવે છે.
