The verse links solar-ray taxonomy with loka-attainment."}
Concept: Cosmic mechanics of loka-attainment: upward-directed radiance corresponds to reaching deva communities and their abodes.
Application: In ritual and meditation, contemplate ascent through ordered light-paths; distinguish deva-loka attainment from the para-gati described in the preceding verse.

A cosmological-Jyotiṣa teaching: the Sun’s rays are classified by direction, and the upward-directed portion is linked with access to deva-realms (deva-dhāmas).
It exemplifies the text’s catalog-style cosmology—mapping physical phenomena (solar rays, directions) to metaphysical outcomes (lokas and divine abodes), integrating astronomy-like description with soteriology.
It frames higher attainments as aligned with “upward” divine currents—symbolically associating ascent toward deva-realms with purity and meritorious orientation toward the divine order.
