Chapter 312 — Various Mantras (नानामन्त्राः)
jīvedvarṣaśataṃ dhīmānna caurāribhayaṃ bhavet kruddhaḥ prasādī bhavati yudhi mantrāmbupānataḥ
Lord Agni (in dialogue tradition, instructing Sage Vasiṣṭha)

Related Themes: Agni Purana 312 (rakṣā-prayoga and mantra-upacāra passages)
It teaches the prayoga of mantrāmbu-pāna—drinking water ritually empowered by mantra—as a practical protection and stabilization rite (rakṣā and śānti), said to support longevity, fearlessness, and composure.
Alongside theology, the Agni Purana preserves applied techniques—here, a concise ritual-therapeutic procedure (mantra + water) with stated results relevant to health, security, and warfare—showing its wide coverage of practical life sciences and protective rites.
The act links bodily intake with sacred sound (mantra), implying purification and pacification (prasāda/śānti); it frames protection and inner calm as outcomes of disciplined, dhārmic ritual practice.
