Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Alamkara","secondary_vidya":"Vyakarana","practical_application":"Lexical clarification for reading śāstra and kāvya: distinguishes senses of vyuṣṭi/dṛṣṭi/akṣi/niṣṭhā etc., and technical uses of kāṣṭhā as limit, station, and direction.","sutra_style":true}

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"List","entry_title":"Semantic entries: vyuṣṭi, dṛṣṭi/akṣi, niṣṭhā-niṣpatti-nāśa-anta, kāṣṭhā","lookup_keywords":["vyuṣṭi","dṛṣṭi","akṣi","niṣṭhā","kāṣṭhā"],"quick_summary":"Provides key word-senses: fruition/prosperity; knowledge/seeing/eye; completion/cessation; and kāṣṭhā as utmost limit, fixed station, and a quarter/direction."}

Concept: Semantic control of key abstractions: ‘dṛṣṭi’ bridges epistemic (knowledge) and perceptual (seeing) domains; ‘anta’ group marks termination/completion.

Application: Improves interpretation of philosophical and narrative passages where ‘dṛṣṭi’ may mean doctrine/knowledge, and ‘kāṣṭhā’ may mean direction rather than ‘wood’.

Khanda Section: Sahitya-shastra (Nighaṇṭu / Lexicography: synonymic and technical vocabulary lists)

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A scholar writes a glossary: ‘vyuṣṭi—phala/samṛddhi’; ‘dṛṣṭi—jñāna/darśana’; ‘akṣi—eye’; ‘kāṣṭhā—limit/station/direction’; compass-like diagram of quarters beside the manuscript.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural: guru with palm-leaf, stylized compass of eight directions labeled kāṣṭhā/dik, students attentive, flat decorative geometry and traditional border motifs","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore: central manuscript and compass wheel with gold leaf on directional spokes; scholar seated; key words in bold Devanagari cartouches","mysore_prompt":"Mysore: clean pedagogic plate with glossary columns and a direction diagram; fine lines, soft colors, emphasis on clarity and labels","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature: scribe at low desk, detailed paper/palm-leaf textures, marginal compass rose with Sanskrit labels, refined interior setting"}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"instructional","suggested_raga":"Hamsadhwani","pace":"medium","voice_tone":"instructional"}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: dṛṣṭirjñāne = dṛṣṭiḥ + jñāne; 'kṣṇi = akṣṇi (initial a- after avagraha); kāṣṭhotkarṣe = kāṣṭha-utkarṣe; niṣṭhāniṣpattināśāntāḥ parsed as a dvandva list ending with antāḥ.

FAQs

It imparts nighaṇṭu-style semantic mapping—precise senses of key Sanskrit terms (e.g., vyuṣṭi, dṛṣṭi, niṣṭhā, kāṣṭha) used in śāstric and poetic contexts.

By functioning as a compact lexical index: it catalogs multiple accepted meanings of common śāstric words, supporting interpretation across disciplines (ritual, philosophy, poetics, and technical manuals) within the Purana.

Accurate understanding of śāstric vocabulary is treated as a prerequisite for correct practice and right comprehension; clarity of meaning prevents misapplication of dharma and supports disciplined study (svādhyāya).
