FAQs

Ayurvedic visha-chikitsa (toxicology): a practical antidotal regimen using garlic, kuṣṭha, citraka, trikaṭu, and specifically snuhī latex with cow’s ghee for snake-venom cases over a fortnight.

It shows the Purana functioning as a compendium beyond theology—preserving applied medical knowledge (toxicology and materia medica) alongside ritual and dharma topics.

While primarily medical, it aligns with dharmic preservation of life (prāṇa-rakṣaṇa); safeguarding health supports one’s capacity to perform duties, vows, and worship without interruption.
