Chapter 280 — रसादिलक्षणम् / सर्वरोगहराण्यौषधानि
Characteristics of Taste and Related Factors; Medicines that Remove All Diseases
tāvatpramāṇaṃ dravyasya snehapādaṃ tataḥ kṣipet toyavarjantu yaddravyaṃ snehadravyaṃ tathā bhavet

Concept: Correct categorization (saṃjñā) governs correct procedure (vidhi) in technical disciplines.
Application: Avoid formulation errors by classifying ingredients by water-content when deciding what contributes to aqueous vs. fatty phase.

Related Themes: Agni Purana 280 (Sneha-kalpanā proportional rules)
It gives a technical Ayurvedic pharmacy rule: add sneha (ghee/oil) as one-quarter of the ingredient measure, and classify waterless ingredients as sneha-type (non-aqueous) components for proportioning.
Beyond theology, the Agni Purana preserves applied sciences like Ayurveda—here, a precise formulation principle (ratio and classification of ingredients) used in preparing medicated oils and ghee.
By prescribing correct preparation and purity of medicinal formulations, it supports dharmic care of the body—viewed in Purāṇic thought as maintaining a fit instrument for duty, worship, and righteous living.
