FAQs

It gives the offering-mantra for presenting the pavitraka (a consecrated thread/loop used to sanctify the deity and the rite), explicitly linking it with pavitrīkaraṇa (purification) and the merit of varṣa-pūjā (annual worship).

By preserving a precise, usable liturgical formula and its ritual purpose (purification + annual merit), it exemplifies the Agni Purana’s handbook-style coverage of temple/household worship procedures alongside its many other disciplines.

The verse frames the pavitraka-offering as a purifier and as a means to obtain the full fruit of yearly worship, indicating enhanced ritual efficacy and accumulated religious merit (puṇya).
